  1. Applicants must be 19 years of age. If either applicant is 17 or 18 years of age, a notarized form giving consent to the marriage of a minor must be completed and signed by the applicant’s legal guardian.  No one under the age of 17 may be legally married in the State of Nebraska.  
  2. Proof of identity and age must be provided along with the applicant’s social security number, if they have one. Applicants who do not have a Social Security Number must complete a form provided by the Clerk asserting they do not have a Social Security Number.  
  3. If applicant has been previously married, the date of dissolution or death must be provided.

A Marriage License issued in the State of Nebraska is good for one year anywhere in the State.

Marriage Licenses are issued from 8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M., Monday through Friday.

The fee for the issuance of a Marriage License is $25.00. A certified copy of the marriage license is required in order for the applicant to change their last name, e.g. Driver's License, Social Security, etc. The cost of a certified copy is $9. Total fee due at the time of application is $34.
